[video] She did this at the tender age of 15 - Latest Scam on Facebook

Hi Friends!! There is a new Spam post with fake video screenshot spreading viral on Facebook. The Spam post contains the caption "[WTH] she went totally crazy and lost all control of the sharp axe. Watch what happened..in..this video:_: Tinyurl link" with an image showing a lady with an axe like seen below.



Clicking on the tinyurl link will take you to a website like seen below. This webpage will run several scripts in the background and checks for user location and type of device used information for delivering ads.



Upon clicking the play button it will pop up a window and asks users to press few keyboard shortcut keys to proceed further and for verification.


Many users in the curiosity of watching the video press these shortcuts keys without knowing the purpose of these keys. The purpose of these shortcut keys is explained below:
  • Pressing the "Ctrl" and the "L" key selects the current URL address in your browser. Just press Ctrl+L and see above in the address bar of your browser it will be selected.
  • Pressing the "Ctrl" and the "C" key copies the selected content. Here it copies the selected URL address in your browser.
  • Pressing the "Ctrl" and the "W" key will close your current browser tab.
  • Pressing the "Ctrl" and the "P" key will paste the copied content. The copied URL address will be pasted.


Spammers make users perform these steps in order to get their access token. An access token is a random string that identifies a User, App or Page session. These access token are used to get access to user Facebook wall. Once the appropriate permission is gained the Scam post is posted on the users wall and his/her friends get tagged to it in order to spread the Scam post across Facebook users and Spammers make more money.
