"Hey, i am inviting you to try whatsapp calling click here to activate now" - another survey Scam

We all have seen the Call button within WhatsApp, it is similar to the Call option on your phone and service provider charges will apply if you make a call. WhatsApp doesn't provide any calling feature and this information is provided on the FAQ of their website. Unfortunately many users may not be aware of this and scammers thought of making some money using the popularity and user base of the messaging app. WhatsApp messenger - a globally popular cross platform instant messaging application which allows you to exchange messages using smartphones. An instance of survey scam was seen today circulating among WhatsApp users. Below shown is the WhatsApp message sent by few people in my friend list.

The message suggest to click on a link "whatsappcalling" in order to accept the invite and activate the Whatsapp calling feature. Clicking on the link will redirect users to a site as shown below where it will ask you to invite at least 10 your friends to continue further. This is a technique used by scammers to spread the scam message.

Clinking invite now will send the scam message along with the link to your friends. It uses java script to check whether you have clicked the invite button 10 times. Once done it allows you to click on the continue button. Otherwise it displays alert message as seen below and won't allow you to click continue.

Clicking on the continue button will take you to survey.html page and would suggest you to complete the final step that is to fill the survey to active the calling service.

So friends there is no calling feature available on WhatsApp as of now. Be aware about these scams and avoid clicking and circulating hoax and spam msg among your friends. The main motive of these scams is monetary gain and scammers will earn money for each surveys completed.
